Cenit - A suspended horizon of light.

Following the success of Lapso, Natural Urbano and Polybion™ present Cenit: their second collaboration exploring light, materiality, and the expressive potential of Celium™ — Premium Cultivated Cellulose.

Where Lapso introduced Celium™ as a sculptural lighting object, Cenit brings this exploration into a more linear, atmospheric, and inhabitable format.Inspired by golden horizons and the linear sequences of the 1970s, the series transforms light into a suspended landscape: a horizontal glow held between natural ash and translucent Celium™.

The result is a collection of lamps that bring together biological variation, material warmth, and atmospheric illumination. Each piece filters light through cultivated cellulose, allowing the natural texture and translucency of Celium™ to become part of the experience.

Design Statement

Cenit is a luminous object inspired by the image of a horizon suspended in space.

Its name refers to the highest point in the sky in relation to an observer. In this series, that idea is translated into a horizontal line of light: a warm, atmospheric presence that appears to float between material and space.

The design draws from golden sunsets, architectural rhythm, and the linear visual language of the 1970s. Thin layers of natural ash form the structure that holds translucent Celium™, allowing light to pass through the material and create a soft, enveloping glow.

Cenit does not use Celium™ as a decorative surface. It uses the material as part of the light itself. The biological variations of each sheet — its tone, density, texture, and translucency — become visible when illuminated, giving every lamp its own character.

Fold Studies 01 is about folding cultured biomaterials and turning it into your essentials.

What you see isn’t pieced together; there are no components joining up, no hidden fixes, and no outside elements making it function. It’s simply a seamless surface developed from Celium™ - Premium Cultivated Cellulose, shaped into form. The fold is the structure itself. It determines how the object stands, opens up, and carries what you need.

Fold Studies 01 is focused on objects meant to be used; they carry your essentials ,they maintain their own integrity because the material was folded into functionality, by design.

More than 500,000,000 bacteria collaborated to grow the surface materials used in this drop.
